Everyday Hero

Yue He/ Minghao Xu/ Yitong Guo

Presented by a group of academic and industry collaborators that ranged from IndieCade to Northeastern’s own Game Studio, Jamming the Curve was a “slow jam” that took place during two weeks in September 2020. Teams were provided with two simulation engines (one based in Unity and one in standard html) that were developed by Georgia Tech as tools to allow the student teams to develop game models using actual COVID-19 scientific data. Everyday Hero was one of the five winners of the jam, and was showcased at the IndieCade Anywhere and Everywhere Festival in October, 2020.

Husky Communications

Husky Communications is a student-run virtual  communications agency. We provide primarily mission-driven organizations with a range of digital marketing, public relations, and communications consulting services.

The Husky Communications website was designed by 17 Digital Media and Corporate and Organizational Communication graduate students as a co-curricular experiential project. Its purpose is to make potential client organizations, hiring managers, current and potential students aware of the top-notch work produced by our students, guided by faculty experts.

Testimonials

“It was a win-win. I got some tremendous value from the recommendations provided by the Husky Communications student team to raise awarness of our lab’s services.  And I believe the students learned a lot about managing client relationships.”

Jared Auclair

Director, Biopharmaceutical Analysis Training Lab, Northeastern University

“The experiential capstone project that I worked on was so meaningful to me. I was able to activate my knowledge and skills for an organization whose mission resonated with me — and my professional network also expanded as a result.”
